All about chiropractic

The World Health Organisation defines chiropractic as "A health care profession concerned with the diagnosis, treatment and prevention of disorders of the neuro-musculoskeletal system and the effects of these disorders on general health. There is an emphasis on manual techniques, including joint adjustment and/or manipulation with a particular focus on subluxations." Chiropractors have 5 years of university education which focuses on understanding the function of the spine and nervous system.

The word chiropractic was derived from two Greek words “Kiro,” and “practos,” meaning done by the hands.

As Chiropractors, we are invested in exploring the bodies potential to heal and grow. We assess the whole body and its biomechanics to see where areas of restriction are present that may be hindering the bodies natural ability to heal. By relieving these restrictions, we aim to restore full mobility and movement whilst boosting the body's natural ability to heal.

Chiropractors primarily use their hands to assess and treat.

Chiropractic is a drug and surgery free profession.

In Australia we are 5 year university trained to become recognised as Doctors of Chiropractic.

We are a fully regulated and registered profession under AHPRA.

Some FAQS

What to expect in your first visit

In your first visit, your Chiropractor will do a full assessment to get an understanding of your current health concerns and overall wellbeing. As well as taking your medical history and asking some questions, we will also then do a postural, biomechanical and nervous system assessment. We try to take the whole picture into account when formulating a treatment approach to achieve the best outcomes.
